The Globie Awards is The Seattle Globalist’s annual gala and award ceremony. The Seattle Globalist is a nonprofit news organization whose mission is to elevate diverse voices through media, and we are working towards our mission by building community capacity in journalism and storytelling.
The Globie Awards recognizes emerging journalists who dedicate themselves to telling stories of those who are underrepresented in media. Additionally, this event honors a Globalist of the Year who is selected from nominations put forward by Seattle Globalist readers. The Globalist of the Year embodies the values of The Seattle Globalist: racial equity, social and economic justice, community transformation, and the commitment to elevating voices of communities of color and immigrants.
All proceeds raised by The 2019 Globie Awards benefit Seattle Globalist publications and educational program participants.
The Seattle Globalist is a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our Tax ID number is 20-5999325.

The Globie Awards is a fun night where the community comes together to support diverse voices in media, recognize community leaders, and celebrate everything we have accomplished over the past year. This event raises crucial funds for our annual apprenticeship program, community workshops, and other educational programming, and volunteers are critical to making the event a success! If you have any questions around volunteering, please reach out to Ann Lowe at email@example.com.
